SAQA Presents: “Local Color”

Celebrating Connecticut through Fiber Art  

“Local Color” will premiere at the Haas Library Western Connecticut State University campus,  located at 181 White Street in Danbury CT,   Show Dates:  May 4 – June 14, 2013  Opening Reception May 4, 2013

“Local Color” is a juried, traveling exhibition of fiber art created by members of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) in the Connecticut Region, celebrating the beauty and diversity of Connecticut.  

Participating artists include: Deirdre Abbotts, Barbara C Adams, Deborah Bein, Christina Blais, Timi Bronson, Barbara Drillick, Jane Driscoll, Carol Eaton, Pat Ferguson, Sandra Fromson, Rita Hannafin, Trish Hodge, Yvette Howard, Gail Kotowski, Mary Lachman, Mickey Lawler, Karen Loprete, Carol Ludington, Jeanne Marklin, Barbara McKie, Jennifer O’Brien, Ruth Anne Olson, Margaret Phillips, Judy Ross, Norma Schlager, Phyllis Small, Catherine Whall Smith, Rosalind Spann, Kendell Storm, Kate Themel, Antonia Torres, Carol Vinick, Elizabeth Warner, Mayann Weinberg, Robin Wolek, Diane Wright and Linda Zimmerman

The exhibition will travel to several other venues around the State including:  Legislative Office building in Hartford CT, July 1 – 31, 2013  Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich CT, Nov 2013 – Jan 2014*;  Guilford Art Center in Guilford CT in Feb – March  2014* / *Exact dates will be announced soon.
