Catherine Whall Smith is thinking . . . time to take down the “Line Dances” show

“Line Dances” at the University of Connecticut will end this Friday, October 19th. I’ll be removing the pieces at the Thomas Dodd Research Center and Homer Babbidge Library Gallery on the Plaza at the end of the week.  So if you haven’t had a chance to see the show head over to the UConn campus this week.  A few weeks ago I added my “Self Portrait” pieces to the show at the Dodd Center.  The basic shapes in these two quilts were taken from pattern pieces that were drafted to fit me in a Graduate course (CTID 303)  that I completed during the Fall Semester of 1974 at the University of Connecticut.

The two pieces put together measure 66H x 105W inches. My signature design lines separate each shape; as well as lots of slashing lines.  The question, if I were to make a garment today from these pattern shapes would it fit . . . hmmm do I really want to know that!!!
