Catherine Whall Smith – adds “Orange Peels” to the Line Dances exhibit at UConn

“Orange Peels” – CWSmith.All RightsReserved

Because I had to remove “Views – Country/City” from one of the Homer Babbidge Library showcases to deliver it to it’s new owner – I decided to fill the space with an an earlier piece that incorporates my lines.  The picture on the left shows this piece in the show case and below is a picture of the piece in progress.

At the time I was working on this piece, I placed a picture of Edouard Vuillard’s painting Large Interior with Six Figures in front to study.  I am continually inspired by his paintings that incorporate pattern on patterns, saturated colors, and emerging figures from walls and doorways.   So who and  what inspires you???
