So just for fun, I decided to dress up my two mannequins “Marge” and “Gould” to welcome visitors to my home to celebrate Connecticut Open House Day 2015 this Saturday, June 13th. My mother-in-law Margery Smith was an expert seamstress, who created this dress she is wearing along with a matching vest that Gould (my father-in-law) has on under his “Kiss an Artist today” apron. The two of them wore these outfits to holiday parties.
I assume that Marge used her Singer Slant sewing machine to whip them up. In fact I still use that same sewing machine in my studio to create my fiber art. It sews beautifully. Well hope you can stop by 44 Chaplin Street, Chaplin CT from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Marge, Gould, and I will be waiting!!!
