The opening of the 31st Annual Juried Quilt Exhibit “Quilts=Art=Quilts” will be held on Sunday, October 30th, 2011 at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center in Auburn, New York.  One of my diptych’s – “Gold Hay #1, Gold Hay #2 was accepted into this show.  I plan to attend the opening and have the opportunity to view all of the quilts in person.

"Gold Hay #1, Gold Hay #2 - 2011 (28H x 56W inches)

My Artist Statement on these pieces;   “Presently the quilts that I create are strongly influenced by my rural surroundings.  My photos of rolled hay, when viewed enlarged present a visual image of chaotic lines.  The “Gold Hay” series enables me to use those chaotic lines to explore the spaces that are created when line meets line or lines overlap lines.  .  .  . ”
